On 22nd January, 2024, a sitting Prime Minister of the so-called “Largest Secular Democracy” of the world performed the ritual for animating the inanimate idol of an infantile Lord Rama, a deity who is a jural person!

In connection to the above event, we filed an RTI on 28.01.2024 to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) of India, having the following text:

This is to kindly ask you for giving me information on the following questions:

Did our Honourable Prime Minister perform the Bhumi Pujan of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on 05. 08. 2020, and act as the yajmana for the final inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on 22.01.2024 in his personal capacity or as the incumbent office-holder of the Constitutional Chair of the Prime Minister of India?
In other words, did our Honourable Prime Minister visit numerous temples in various states of India during his presently-held office on governmental/public expenditure or personal/crowd funding?
I utterly need either YES or NO answer as a common Indian citizen.

To the above application, an “interim” (in process) reply by snail mail/speed post was received by the appellant on 27.02.2024, which is given as follows:

Further updates shall be given accordingly as per the status of the RTI application.

IMPORTANT UPDATE (16/04/2024):

The reply finally came from the Prime Minister’s Office on 16/04/2024 (please note that we received the following answer after waiting for almost two months! What made the PMO take so much time to respond to our question?), upon receiving which, we are more than joyous. View it for yourself:

The one line reply from the PMO thus stands as a testament of a historic blunder: THE PRIME MINISTER IS ON DUTY ALL THE TIME. (special emphasis on “all”)

Hence, the implication of this is quite obvious: The present occupant of the PM chair of India, viz., Mr. Narendra Modi, went to the Ram Mandir inauguration as well as offered worship in countless Hindu temples across the Indian subcontinent AS A PM, and not as an individual!

This has further ramifications: by using this RTI alone, we could rightfully demand the resignation of the present PM on the grounds of committing gross violations of the secularist Constitution of India, especially the Preamble and Article 51A(h). The PM’s participation and promotion of a particular religion as part of the vote bank politics also goes against the Representation of the People Act (1951), according to which, the use of religion to seek votes comes under “corrupt practices” under Section 123 (3) of the said Act, which deals with references to appeals on the ground of religion.

Don’t we remember the Nehru-Rajendra Prasad debate?

Pt. Nehru, the first Prime Minister of the Republic, openly objected to the idea of the then President Rajendra Prasad publicly visiting the Somnath Temple. Nehru said:

“My dear Rajendra Babu, I confess that I do not like the idea of your associating yourself with a spectacular opening of the Somnath Temple. This is not merely visiting a temple, which can certainly be done by you or anyone else, but rather participating in a significant function which unfortunately has a number of implications.”

Ramchandra Guha writes:

“The prime minister thought that public officials should never publicly associate with faiths and shrines. The president on the other hand, believed that it should be equally and publicly respectful to all.

“Nehru felt that it was the responsibility of the Congress and the government to make the Muslims in India feel secure. Patel, on the other hand was inclined to place the responsibility on the minorities themselves,” (Ref. ‘India after Gandhi’).

Yet, our present PM inaugurated AS A PM (as explicitly confirmed by our RTI), through a grand celebration, a spectacular media-hyped event—- the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

PM Narendra Modi did an UNCONSTITUTIONAL JOB and did not even regret it for a second! How can the PM waste public money for celebrating one particular religion by excluding all the others? What a theocratic mentality!

This PM, a tyrant, pathological liar and a mass-murderer, is hailed by the far-rightists of the world. Yet, far-rightists can never stand for human rights, or for the core values of democracy!

Let us topple this Moronocratic state of affairs in India with immediate effect.

Let us now demand, before it is too late, the inevitable downfall of the anti-secular, anti-people, fascist BJP!

We Must Resist Hindu Rastra at all costs!
