BJP and Piramal are afraid: suppression of OBMA's online activism!

We are happy to note that some of our tweets on the DHFL Scam are no longer visible in India.

We received an email from the Twitter headquarters on 2:34 am (IST) on 06/03/2023. Through this mail, Twitter communicated to us that one of our website’s profiles: @anekanta01 (along with its associated ones including Ashok Khemka IAS, Akhar Bandyopadhyay, Rupa Sanyal, Mrs Bandana, Once in a Blue Moon Academia, MR S.R.PAL C.A.I.I.B & EX- BANKER and so on) contain multiple tweets that violate the “local laws” of India. Twitter has further stated that it is going to withhold all these tweets in India based on a “court order” from a law or government enforcement agency.

We are happy to note that we are successful in making ourselves heard. We are successful in making the ruling class tremble with fear. This type of suppression of voice or online ban only proves (yet again) that India is “party free”, an autocratic crony state moving towards an Orwellian dystopia, where both the form of language and content are controlled as well as manipulated by the ruling class.

Whenever the ruling Hindutvavadi party, along with their business-tycoon friends like Adani-Ambani-Piramal, have tried to “ban” or “censor” or suppress the dissenting voices, the latter have only proliferated and have got amplified due to the predominance of web-based communications. Recent examples of such onslaught by the ruling party on democracy and freedom of speech and expression are given as follows:

a) BBC Documentary: “India: The Modi Question“‘s screening was banned, only giving way to it being uploaded across various online platforms and being projected at various universities and colleges across India (e.g., JNU, Presidency University, Jadavpur University, Delhi University). ⤡

b) Hindenburg Research’s Report on the Adani Group.⤡ Condemning George Soros’ comments on the said Report and Modi’s India in general. ⤡

c) Giving police (and otherwise) threats to singer Neha Singh Rathore⤡ and her family led to a spike in Neha Singh Rathore’s popularity.

d) Banning Pathaan (2023) only led to its box office success.

e) Condemning the Caravan Report on the Gujarat Riots led to its wide circulation.

f) Suhani Shah’s revelation of BJP-adided Bageshwar Baba’s “chamatkari”.

This Bangla song, originally written by Turkish Poet Nazim Hikmet, was later translated in Bangla by Subhash Mukhopadhyay and then sung by various music groups (IPTA, Calcutta Youth Choir, Hemanga Biswas et al.) with different variations. This song tells the might of the revolutionary forces that offer resistance against the fascist blow to freedom of speech and expression. The song was dedicated to international political activist and singer: Paul Robeson. Some of the lines are being translated as follows:

They are afraid of our unhindered voice!

They are afraid of our mighty parade, O Robeson!

They are afraid of the sounding drums of Revolution!

We are thanking the Twitter team for not banning us worldwide.

We simply have one humble appeal to all the victims of the DHFL Scam: continue to make yourselves heard by liking, commenting, sharing/retweeting/reblogging across our social media profiles. We are not alone in this fight. Your one subscription will strengthen our collective protest.

Motivate and inspire yourself to carry the struggle on by remembering the glorious example of the Indian revolutionaries. Here is an excerpt from Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s last petition to the imperialist authority (he was no way a “Veer” Savarkar, who submitted multiple mercy petitions for his release from prison!)
